HISTORY
Many archaeological discoveries lead us to believe that Thorpe has been established since early prehistoric times. These include evidence of settlements of Bronze Age, Iron Age and Roman times.

The Village has existed in some form since 672 when it was granted to King Frithuwold to endow Chertsey Abbey.

The present day village forms an attractive mix of cottages and more substantial houses which manages to evoke the feel of a rural community amongst the more modern surroundings of Thorpe Park and the motorway network.
